Who are The Gym Group?

The Gym Group pioneered low-cost, 24/7 gyms in the UK with a mission to make fitness accessible to all.

The company is also a recognised sector leader in sustainability, becoming the world’s first fitness operator to have a net zero emissions target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

With over 900,000 members, water is a substantial consideration for The Gym Group, from hydration during exercise to providing shower and bathroom facilities.

In partnership with Inspired, Deer Technology delivered solutions designed to improve water efficiency, improve sustainability, and lower costs.

How we helped The Gym Group

Deer Technology and Inspired installed Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) water devices across The Gym Group’s estate of 246 meters.

AMR water devices enabled more accurate usage tracking, early identification of high-consuming sites, and precise billing from their water supplier.

Together, these improvements supported greater sustainability, reduced consumption and billing accuracy.

Following an initial rollout, the project was rolled out in two further phases across the rest of their sites.
